  • Every one has different motivations for running, We ITEN runners club encourage and promote

    those motivations and help them to develop individual running as part of their healthy lifestyle in a safe, supportive and friendly training environment. ITEN Runners club is based out of Trivandrum, Kerala, India. We are a non profit volunteer based organisation.

    Anyone who wants to run can join this community for free. Young, old, families, students… people at all walks of life can join us in our weekly runs. The club was formed in 2016 by a small group of Marathon enthusiasts from Trivandrum. Since its founding, the club has grown year over year and now we have over 150 members. ITEN runners club has weekly runs throughout the year, especially our group runs are on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday starting from Kowdiar Square at 5:30 am. We do hill repeats, tempo runs, interval runs etc on weekdays and LSDs on sundays. We try to keep all the people involved, including the new joiners in the club who are new to running¬† by giving them training and to stay healthy. This is the principle in which ITEN Runners Club is moving forward. Join us to keep yourself fit and be with the most friendliest people.

    Start slow, start really slow. Walk a kilometre, do whatever you can. When it gets hard, dont quit, just stay consistent because it will get easier with time. It doesnt matter how slow or fast youre going

    Golden Peak Half Marathon is a 21.1k road run through the hills of Ponmudi, a hill station, part

    of Western Ghats mountain ranges that runs parallel to the Arabian Sea and it is located at 55.2km north-east of Trivandrum City and very importantly home to over 500 plant and animal species.

    We are offering only one category this year, Half marathon; which is scheduled to be on January 27,2019. Our volunteer driven and non-profit event is organised and hosted by ITEN runners club Trivandrum, Kerala. Golden Peak Half Marathon is the only Half marathon in South India with an elevation gain of 1000m, meandering through the thick tropical forest with its unique flora and fauna. It has a beautiful start that sets the plot and a thrilling sequences in the middle as you progress through the 22 stunning hair pin bends and the breath taking climax when you reach the peak at the Upper Sanatorium.

    Conserving your energy as you climb over 100m in the initial 5 kms to reach Kallar which is the

    gateway to the Golden Peak. The first slow movements of your composition is like sizing up for a strong partner. As you cross Kallar, the base checkpoint, the course becomes toughest with steady gradient. Be alert to the altitude change, as you can raise your strides & cadence without running out of steam. The course runs through forests, rapids near the road, scenic view of mystic mountains and many more. As you crosses upper check post the 19 km mark, get ready for the finale. The final 2.1 kms takes you through breath taking scenery and you will start getting the glimpses of the Golden Peak shining bright in the sun as the name resembles. As you cross the finish line you will be greeted with, the sights and the smells; the breeze and the rapids; the volunteers and cheering squads; It will be an experience that stays with you forever.
