  • Hyderabad Runners can be termed as the torchbearer of community running in Hyderabad, a name synonymous with running, always prefixed with the Hyderabad Marathon, which, today,has become the signature event of the city of Biryani, Pearls and IT.

    Came into picture in 2007, Hyderabad Runners began as a brief ensemble of self-motivated running enthusiasts who rallied their dreams and nurtured running as an indispensable activity across several sections of the society.

    In less than a decade since then, Hyderabad Runners pioneered in drawing and facilitating runs of several categories including Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K Run, 5K Fun Run etc.

    Hyderabad Runners is registered as a not-for-profit society and currently has a membership base of 3000

    The Full Marathon is a 42.195 Km point-to-point road race, taking runners on a journey through Hyderabad on a course ascending from the historical heart of the city to the modern technological metropolis at the far west end. Starting with a loop around the picturesque Hussain Sagar Lake after passing by the adjoining state secretariats of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the runners run in front of Raj Bhavan, the Governor\\\’s official residence. The route also takes runners close to the official residence of the Chief Minister of Telangana, before getting onto the second flyover. The course crosses through Somajiguda, Punjagutta, Banjara Hills, passes by the KBR Park, Jubilee Hills, before entering the Cyberabad Police jurisdiction into Madhapur, then the Hitech City, the IT District, the Financial District, the villages of Gowlidoddi, Gopanapalli, and through the beautiful shaded campus of the University of Hyderabad to finally finish in the GMC Balayogi Stadium in Gachibowli.

    The Half Marathon is a 21.098 Km point-to-point road race, taking runners on a journey through Hyderabad on a course ascending from the heart of the city to the modern technological metropolis at the far west end. Starting on Necklace Road by the picturesque Hussain Sagar Lake the runners get onto the Khairatabad flyover and run in front of Raj Bhavan, the Governors official residence. The route also takes runners close to the official residence of the Chief Minister of Telangana, before getting onto the next flyover. The course crosses through Somajiguda, Punjagutta, Banjara Hills, passes by the KBR Park, Jubilee Hills, before entering the Cyberabad Police jurisdiction into Madhapur, then the Hitech City, onto the Old Mumbai Highway and by the IT District to finally finish in the GMC Balayogi Stadium in Gachibowli

    10 Km Race is a point-to-point road race, taking runners from the HITEX Expo ground to the finish line at the Gachibowli Stadium. The 10k course is entirely in the western part of Hyderabad within the Cyberabad Police jurisdiction. The course takes runners through the Hitec City and joins the Full and the Half Marathon route at the Cyber Towers, (Hyderabads Iconic and landmark building that initiated the Technology Revolution in Hyderabad.)

    5K Fun Run is a flat, looped course that starts and finishes in the HITEX Expo grounds. The route takes runners from the HITEX Expo ground onto the main HITEX approach road up to the Charminar Entrance Arch on the Madhapur Road and back. It is a run to celebrate running and to celebrate Hyderabad. It is a curtain raiser for Hyderabads premier running event, the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon.
